What I'm Wearing! News Paper clip from Todays Press..
So, here I am..flaunting the fact that I made it to the 'Fashion section' of The Press, for Christchurch/Canterbury New Zealand..If you don't know what I look like, I am wearing sunnies and ripped jeans..not my most honorable moment or outfit for that sake, but perfect for what I intended it for, a quick stroll down town..
Okay, maybe I am a little pretentious..I know, shame on me. But it's in a way a little bit flattering being 'discovered' or rather stopped while stressing around town just because of What I'm Wearing.
Damn it, I silently thought to myself as she yelled: "Excuse me, hallo, yes..you.." I turned around, thinking that she was going to ask me something like "Would you like to participate in this questionnaire, it will only take a few minutes". But she didn't ask that, instead she smiled as she looked at me. From behind a photographer popped up and suddenly I had a dozen eyes at me.." We are from The Press..and.." On a closer note, I did have a moment to spare. Awkward as it all might seem, posing in a big intersection, I sort of got into it, smiling, tossing my drizzled dry hair, and for a second just totally forgetting about how silly I would have looked and that my sunglasses was still on, could have been misstaken for a bit rude..and even more silly..
Oh well, I did it..became a muse for a day wearing my most un-amusing clothes:-). As I walked off, I kept saying to myself (in my head that is, otherwise I would come across as a bit mad) "I should have worn something from my own collection",jeez Alice..sharpen up, all the labels should be Alice Charlie..until next time then..
My Leather & Basic and Outfit for the day?
I have been asked where you could find a nice fitted (day to day) 'mini' leather jacket, slightly distressed with an over size collar, beleive me..they can be hard to find.. and discovered a really pretty and slightly worn out designed BB Dakota Cartersville brown leather jacket at Shopbop and what's more appealing, the price tag, totally reasonable.
For the whole look, Cheap Monday Half Knit Dress-swedish too, yay..has really cute basics, I've found one here, on sale for $ 52 US. My knit was from 2707, a swedish small brand.
Well, signing off now, will head out to do some grocery shopping for all those Christmas cakes I tend to bake (even tough it's only me and my husband) this Christmas..who say's you can't indulge:-)I'm also planning a real lamb roast and have taken some much needed inspiration from vocabular queen Nigella and not so well spoken and ever so angry (but I like him) Gordon..Opps..want to grab a copy of that News Paper as well:-)

Lovely fashion picks..I had a look at the jacket-link to Shopbop, great pick Alice...I have 'myself' been looking for a Leather jacket like this, might be my own little Christmas gift since I'm not sure I'm getting the right stuff this year, probably just a few eyeliners if even that..he he..Will stop by at your site again for more finds, you really nailed it! Thanks sweet..I love getting comments and extra fun to hear what you all think:-I'll make sure to start working on my tripod and get some better close ups on all my wardrobe styles for this year..I am happy that we are officially 'blog friends':-)have a blissful Christmas and that sparkly pink champagne sipping New Years everybody deserves..I'll get back into the kitchen now, have probably taken on more then I can chew (Jamie Oliver) always says that..ha ha..this time it's Gordon Ramseys chili pate with herbs, rolled in the oven and should cool over nigth:-well, this might be the big laugh of christmas supper. I read your blog, we as fashion people, we are the leather followers in the fashion trend world, I love short leather jacket, which could be fitted with different jean pants, short boots. I love them.
I love this article. The jacket looks great ! I also think that what would top off this outfit is one of these stylish new wristlets I saw at daniel-12-4.com ! They look great for carrying your cell phone or money without having to carry your purse!
