Wedding fashion! Get inspired before getting married
Spring Wedding Fashion Trends: Love is in the air
I remeber carrie's words: love is the one label that never goes out of style..she was right love is the thing, but nothing says 'I do' but accessories like 20's vails, something borrowed and blue, and of course the wedding shoes.
I must say, spring not only puts me in a flirty mood, it also turns me into an hopeless romantic. I know many of us are desperatly itching to get out of the house, dressed in ballet flats and floral dresses, ready for some fresh air and sunshine but the forecast tells otherwise. If your planning a spring or summer wedding wet piles of snow and gustly winds could hardly stop you from planning the event of a lifetime, raiding shops any waken moment. Is the option of a hot cup of tea and the delight of a livingroom shopping spree much more appealing? yes of course it is, and so much more relaxed. So this post is dedicated to all you soon-to-be newlyweds. There are tons of fun inspirations and non-traditional looks to choose from this year. I wanted to share a few stylish trends that I noticed this season from the dress to the shoes. I have noticed many of the gowns have a whimsical/garden inspiration throughout the design. Isn’t the idea of walking down the isle among a sea of daisies and baby’s breathe sound delightful? Many dresses are covered in rosettes and layered fabric to create a pretty floral touch.
I really like the popular “hipster-type” weddings…which seems to include an outdoor ceremony and kitshy-DIY décor. You also see a lot of varying lengths of the gowns. I have noticed some asymmetrical hemlines and many brides are shortening the usual floor-sweeping dress to a shorter, tea-length style. It’s a great look for an outdoor wedding or small affair.
The shorter style also leaves you with so many options for accessorizing. You could go with an extravagant veil or a birdcage-style with feathers, flowers or crystals. I personally love the idea of piling on pearls or taking a simple, chic dress and adding a breath-taking necklace.
Whether you are going for a shorter hemline or a long train, you are going to need a pair of shoes. I am in love the idea of adding a splash of color to your look. You could go for the “something old, something borrowed, something blue” theme and pair of cobalt or pale blue pumps or even dye your heels to match your bridesmaids. If you’re really going for spring style, I found these garden-chic floral print shoes that come in flats too. I think they would add a nice pop underneath a white gown.
If you have any ideas or personal touches to accent these styles, feel free to share….
