The significant dip in temperatures over the past few weeks has seen us reach for our hats and scarves, slapping on layers of clothing until we’re halfway to resembling something akin to the Michelin man.

But for those of us who have already been savvy enough to invest in a Superdry windcheater or other outdoor garment from the Very Superdry jackets range, getting out and about in the cold is no longer the red-face freeze it can otherwise be.

Windcheaters, the more stylish version of the good old anorak or cagoule (remember those?), keep the rain off, the wind out and the warmth in. They’re light, waterproof and highly functional. Zip the hood away in its own compartment if you don’t want it, or keep it up to prevent the wind from bombarding your face.

While most of us would prefer to stay snuggled up in bed on those cold winter mornings, bracing the cold is an inevitable part of life, especially in Britain, and actually getting out and about is the best thing for you.

It can be difficult to summon up the motivation to exercise during the colder months, but keeping active when it’s cold is the best way to stay warm (other than staying indoors by a radiator, of course).

The Direct Gov website advises: “Exercise is good for your overall health and it can keep you warm in winter. Even a small amount of exercise can bring health benefits. If possible, try to move around at least once an hour.”

And thanks to the Superdry windcheater, keeping warm and active whilst outdoors need no longer be a shiver-inducing experience. The windcheater is light enough to remain comfortable yet insulated enough to keep most of the winter chill out. And, what’s more, you’re unlikely to need an umbrella whilst wearing the hood up. Button on, zip up and put your hood up – it’s water off a duck’s back.

Superdry may be a brand that does a whole range of casual clothes, but there’s no doubting that its waterproof windcheaters really do live up to the company’s name.

Aside from keeping you warm and dry, the Superdry windcheater will also make you look cool.
