The summer has finally arrived here in New Zealand and I’m getting used to dressing in lighter shades and lighter materials. Fresh cotton wraps and floaty over-sized shirts paired with my newly highlighted hair and much needed pedicure has me all spruced up for beach life. I got an invite to participate in a Polywore Outfit Challenge for ModCloth (emailed from Amy, the stylist at Modcloth). It sounded like a fun challenge (which I probably would normally decline, but with a little bit of extra me time up my sleeve I felt a “why not” come along). While it still took a few odd minutes to get the hang of ‘cutting, pasting’ and finding pieces at Polywore it was infectiously fun and with 5 minutes in, I found that I was loving these imaginary picks (that made me feel like I was collaborating with a fashion magazine and that this outfit was actually going to make the spread) one can at least toss and play with that idea.
So here’s my outfit for the week, a pretty Mint-Cute-Dress as a base ‘that the assignment asked us to start off with’ and then some bright coloured accents (my idea here), plus the ever so important umbrella for drizzly days. It always seem to be at least one humble dash of rain in the outdoor events or weddings I’ve been too:-Have a great up and coming weekend everyone,
lots of love/Alice
