So it's only one year more and them I'm thirty, where did all the years go and shouldn't I have kids, a house, a white painted fence, a dog and career? I remember (not long ago) I was wishing I could turn 21 so it sounded cooler when someone asked me "nobody wants to say they are 20 mom!". What a silly idea that was..For now on I'm going to stay 27, not 28 and definitely not 29 as I'm turning that scary number today..

Growing up the parties has always been extravagant, having a proud dad bringing me and my Twin brother blue and pink parcels, one after the other and renting houses and places, arranging cakes in different shapes and sizes and even colors. It was a magical day for me and my brother, listening to every footstep my mom and dad where taking, every gentle humbling with the porcelain in the kitchen before pretending that we both where sound asleep so they could sing for us. Now there is me and my boyfriend, far away in a wonderland of our own and no candles, no balloons or 'what to wear' moment.

Just a still bay gentle clucking with it's sleepy waves making their way closer to shore. It's us and fishing rods, some smelly squids and perhaps a bottle of Nicks Head, a semi cheap wine from a unforgettable night before. It's probably the most relaxed birthday I will ever have because there is no expectations and that is the best thing to have, low ones that is. No matter how the day turn out it will still end up in a smile and like my mom always say " another pearl on my necklace"
..happy birthday to us, to you Alex..
Lot's of love Alice
