The barb wire bracelet..and a New Year

I am perfectly fine skipping the champagne and the tight dress this year as the baby decided to stay put in the warmth and safety of my womb. Having a figure resembling a football doesn’t help feeling left out from the party crowd and I might as well.  

With swollen feet and a determination like no other to finish half of our house we had a 3 meal dinner including mozzarella salad, chicken cordon bleu ending with chocolate fudge ice cream and fresh strawberries kissing and cheering the New Year in a mix between cold beer, z-up and milk of all beverages. Just as simple and wonderful as that. The tropical rain pouring down on the tin roofs outside might as well keep pouring…

New Zealand has now already had its wet tropical take on 2011’s New Year’s Eve.  Being first in the world (note: some little isolated island or domain might claim I’m wrong) celebrating 12 o clock was at no advantage as me and my husband sheltered from the wildest and most heaviest rain seen in a while. I kept thinking of all the tourist’s that are tenting and camping in the growing mud and all the girls planning make-up, hair-dues and ‘what to wear’ sessions for weeks. Since skipping the whole party thing I decided to splurge and buy myself a bracelet from Pascale Monovosin (a french brand) since seeing it on Rumi (my fav blogger) a few months ago. Haven't gone around to wearing it yet since it's not just my stomach that seems to be big, it includes my hands and ankles as well..
