inspire me 80's...

 “Alone but not lonely all mushed together in its most beautiful light”, I listen to Bill O Connolly’s wise words while he bravely explores Route 66 on his way to Las Vegas.

The TV show keeps me company while a randomly jump between my favourite bloggers and shopping sites. It has been raining today and I have made chocolate muffins (which resembled a flat droopy mess) and as I offered them at my Swedish group (had coffee with some other mom’s) I had to explain “this is my version of scary muffins” but they taste divine. The women smiled gently while eyeballing each other and the plate.

We sang and clapped our hands (it dawned on me, I don’t know half of these nursery rhymes) and a bit red faced and embarrassed I found myself doubting ever being a ‘normal’ mom while miming my way through this afternoon's 'sing a long' event. As I left them, I hurried home in the drizzling afternoon rain. I couldn’t wait to snuggle up behind the laptop accompanied by a big a cup of red rooibos tea. On my search list, 80’s costumes just because they inspire me while in the middle of developing a third collection, something really different and born out of sand dunes and summer breezes and odd 80's soaps.

Another note then hits me, I really wish I could dress up in sexy dress outfits, not the type posing like a hospital nurse, more like a one off shoulder piece in a snug fit, why not? I used to, back in the days. Maybe I could design some?the weight however and overall body contour hasn’t really recovered yet after my recent pregnancy. It does bother me, not having many options of what to wear except big size slip dresses and leggings… As the rain settles so does my mood, I feel happy being nestled in my coach in the company of Billy and my baby (and my slack pregnancy body-what the heck), Billy then says “this is showbiz but not as we know it” and with that said, the show and his journey will be continued…
